George's Postcard Note: After taking the long ferry trip back across the bay from Oakland, we walked across the new, still under-construction, Embarcadero streetscape and found a bench to sit on. I was struck by the lineup of newly planted palms with protective wraps around their fronds. They looked to me like very stylish hair-dos or dunce hats! The scene was good and the beautiful sunny day by the bay inviting. The ferry building's clock tower made a nice verticle centerpiece for the array of stylish palms!
