George's Postcard Note: We used our NY Times list of Bodegónes (traditional bistros) as a way to learn different neighborhoods while also enjoying the food and wine. The government has placed a priority on their preservation as artifacts of the 1930's and reputation as good local restaurants. The Times discussed their good food, authenticity and design, and that was good enough for us! Little English was spoken, but with our limited Spanish we managed to find some great local food and Argentine wine to wash it down. I did this postcard between courses. I was blown away by the bar, with all its wines, glasses, hanging salamis and antique counter. (This, like all bodogones, was once a corner grocery store.)
