George's Postcard Note: In the morning, on my way up to paint the Longovardas Monastery, I had noticed the mottled walls of an old windmill, set in the fields below. Late in the afternoon Peter and I drove back so that I could paint it. There stood the mill, all alone in the most beautiful field of herbs and wildflowers crisscrossed by granite walls. We enjoyed sunset there, with wine and cheese --- so very pleasant!
