George's Postcard Note: A regional train from Paris brought us to the ancient cathedral town. The cathedral dominates as you approach the town, disappears behind houses for a while, and then reappears as a great looming edifice. After long walks inside the cathedral, I sat outside deciding what parts of this amazing structure to focus on. I was struck by the roof, its many additional turrets and dormers, their complexity and form. Also, thinking as I drew, of the incredible feat of construction to build this, how this great building humbled my efforts, as artist and as architect.
