Here are watercolor and pen & ink postcard paintings from several trips to France, beginning in 1987, in Paris. That trip was to show this glorious country to our teenage daughter. It was also when I began my postcard art experience. This trip had me, the architect, searching for Le Corbusier’s Villa Savoye (not so easily found!). On later trips I found, in Southern France, the Maison Carre and Roman amphitheater at Nimes, the Palais des Papes at Avignon and so many other beautiful urban scenes. I’ve also loved my visits with friends in their “mas” (farmstead) in the Pyrenees. So many travel memories, and with so much more to see and paint, there have to be more trips in my future!
